WeRoam crosses the milestone of 30’000 global hotspots |

WeRoam now provides access to over 30’000 access points in partnership with 53 quality network operators in 62 countries around the world. The footprint includes 6884 hotel venues from all major hotel chain brands and 6854 restaurant locations from enterprises such as McDonalds, Starbucks, Burger King and Delifrance, to name a few.
WeRoam customers also benefit form wireless access at 295 airports, spanning the main flight hubs in Europe and North America, but also including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Manila and Taipei in Asia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo in South America and Johannesburg and Cape Town in Africa.
99.5% of WeRoam’s footprint is WISPr compliant, the protocol recommended by the Wi-Fi Alliance to enable and simplify Wi-Fi roaming for end users.

BT and Thistle Hotels Ltd. provide high speed wireless broadband access throughout all areas of the Thistle and Guoman Hotels estate. Thistle and Guoman Hotels become the largest full-service hotel chain in the UK and Ireland to offer wireless broadband connectivity via BT Openzone across all areas of its hotels, including in each of the 10,000 bedrooms, throughout public areas and in the meeting and events facilities.

WeRoam in partnership with Coordinate Technologies Beijing Limited opens the booming country to roaming travellers.
Through this agreement WeRoam will add nearly 2000 business-grade hotspots in China to its open platform. Coordinate provides these locations in partnership with leading Chinese network operators China Netcom, China Mobile and China Telecom.
Broadband wireless Internet is now also accessible for all WeRoam customers at venues such as main airports including Beijing International Airport and all leading hotel chains. With regard to the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games these destinations will be of high interest to business travellers from all geographies, thousands of visitors will generate additional traffic using these wire free internet connections for professional use but also by surfing the World Wide Web for leisure.
